#BREAKTHEBIAS – International Women’s Day 2022

International Women’s Day is an occasion to celebrate the progress made towards achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment but also to critically reflect on those accomplishments and strive for a greater momentum towards gender equality worldwide.

Every year a theme is chosen for the day. This year, the theme is #breakthebias

A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women’s equality.”

A survey conducted in 2021 found that Almost 90% of people are biased against women. Despite progress in closing the equality gap, 91% of men and 86% of women hold at least one bias against women in relation to politics, economics, education, violence or reproductive rights.

To recognise the importance of this day, we’re holding a women in business networking on the 8th March, of which all profits are going to the Prince’s trust, for the #womensupportingwomen initiative
